Demonstrations will cover forming methods (press molds, slab platters, coil-built vessels) and an array of surface design techniques including image transfers, underglaze application, sgraffito, mishima, stencils, wax resist, and thermo-fax printing. Participants will leave with tiles, trays, and vessels layered with personalized imagery, as well as strategies for ongoing creative development. What’s included: -Clay, underglazes, glazes, hands-on instruction from Shanna "My work explores the ways image and mark-making carry stories - both from the everyday and from the unknown that lingers beneath it. Using clay as both vessel and tablet, I draw on traditional forms and surfaces layered with a personal lexicon of imagery - wings, eggs, laundry, guns, formulas - that invites viewers into shared reflection. Each piece becomes part of a larger conversation about history, social issues, and the fragile balance of psychological wellness." - Shanna Fliegel More information about the artist and images of her work can be found here: https://www.shannafliegel.com/
