Class Description

Thursdays @ 5:45 - 8:15 pm, May 10 - June 14 with Caroline Yildiz *Note: You must have taken Intro to Clay at least two times This six week course is designed for students who have taken 2 - 3 Intro to Clay classes with Clayroom, but are not quite ready to move onto Next Step Wheel or Tableware. It is an excellent opportunity to build upon the wheelthrowing skills you have already begun to develop. Wedging and basic throwing skills will be reviewed, but with an emphasis on pushing students into new territory. Be prepared to take chances and make mistakes that will ultimately help you grow in your pottery journey! Week 1: Wedging, centering, opening, & pulling review Week 2: Simple bowls, plates, and vases, trimming review Week 3: Up, up, and away! How to make your forms taller Week 4: Advanced surface design & glazing techniques Week 5: Individual work day, 1:1 help, demos by request Week 6: Glaze party! Class includes: - 25 lbs of clay - 6-weeks of 2.5 hours of instruction - Unlimited use of studio during open studio hours - Firing fees - Glazes

Policies

Class Fees & Schedule: - Class fees cover instructed class time (as listed in specific class schedule), use of tools and equipment, open studio hours, studio glazes and kiln firings - Pottery class fees include 25 lbs of clay - Classes are subject to change if the minimum student quota (7) isn't met - Class switches will only be available one week prior to the commencement of classes and are based on the capacity of classes at time of request Attendance: - It is mandatory for all students who are new to the studio attend the first class - No “make-up” classes are given but drop-in's are welcome in another class if space permits - For adult classes, participants must be at least 14 years of age Personal Belongings: - Any items left behind 30 days after the final class meeting may be discarded without notice Refund Policy: - Class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable - Refund or credit (minus $20 processing fee) if a cancellation request is received at least TWO WEEKS prior to the start of class - Cancellation requests 48 hours or less than to start class, a credit (no refund) MAY be granted ONLY if your spot can be filled - No refunds or credits after attending 1st class - Classes missed due to failure to attend, planned absences, minor illnesses or vacations will not be credited for future classes Student Open Studio Hours: Monday - Thursday: 10AM - 6PM Friday - Sunday: 10AM - 9PM Hours subject to change upon five days' notice
